I offer tailor made workshops for all ages and abilities, both in primary and secondary schools and also in nurseries and specialist education units. From half day sessions to long term projects, I can design a program of activities using a huge variety of techniques and mediums.

You may have an area of the school or playground that you would like to brighten up with some artwork, or perhaps you would like to compliment a particular topic with some creative activities. Maybe you want to run a series of after school sessions or have a project or idea in mind and need some creative help to make it happen.

Recent projects include:

Archive project- A 7 week project spanning 5 Blackpool schools which explored the illuminations and Blackpool entertainment archives.

Chinese New Year project- A term long project with a specialist school for children with severe disabilities. Working with every pupil in the school we made giant dragons, silk paintings, lanterns, costumes, cards, food, flags and  banners. We even made a giant silver rabbit to celebrate the appropriate year and the workshops culminated in a huge festival day with dance performances, food, music, dragons and visiting dignitaries.

Dads and Lads- A now annual workshop for a ‘bring your Dad to school’ day in Blackpool. Activities have included making exploding volcanos, rocket shadow puppets, catapults from lolly sticks and pom pom shooters with paper cups.

Silk painting- A project for a church school in Blackburn. I worked with the infant department to create 12 giant silk hangings depicting the different sections of the church calendar to be hung in the school hall. We also created two canvases to adorn the corridors.

It is impossible for me to demonstrate the vast variety and number of workshops that I have undertaken, particularly as many of my photos have children’s faces that I cannot put on the internet. Below is a small selection of images from recent projects.

If you want to discuss an idea, or get a quote, please get in touch.

“We have never had anyone like Sarah in our school before. She was fantastic. I wish she could come again.”

“Brill. Funny. The best day of school ever!”

“This was the best day of my life. I loved it!”      (I kid you not. This is what an 8 year old wrote after I visited his school!)
